Cognition AI

When devices understand like people do

Context matters

Today’s voice UI struggles to understand context. Most natural language applications depend on rigid commands, and when people don’t say them right, things go wrong. For voice UI to work the way people expect, it needs to have full, contextual understanding.

Cognition AI brings understanding

Cognition AI is a core technology that powers Kardome’s solutions and products. It gives devices something they’ve never had before -- contextual awareness, enabling them to understand people fluidly, naturally, and on-the-spot.

No more frustrations

Cognition AI doesn’t just recognize words and commands. It knows who is speaking and understands their intent.

Accurate and natural

With Cognition AI, voice UI doesn’t wait for fixed commands or wake words. It knows when you’re speaking to it versus other people, activating only when needed and responding as the conversation unfolds, context-aware from start to finish.

Today, that means voice UI that finally works the way people expect. Tomorrow, it drives the voice revolution in human-machine interface design, where we interact with AI-driven devices as naturally as with each other.

Cognition AI enabling products

InferLM

Kardome’s proprietary on-device small-model LLM infers intent intuitively. It understands context like people do, no matter who’s speaking, where they are, or how they phrase it. It lets people talk to devices as naturally as to each other, opening the way for AI to understand what we say and want like never before.

VoiceID

A biometric voice recognition module that identifies pre-enrolled speakers with high accuracy.

Wake Detection

A multi-trigger engine that activates devices using wake words, context, or zonal presence.

SoundSense

Provides ambient sound detection and identification.

Kardome Cognition AI is a recently launched voice technology suite (introduced in January 2026) designed to make voice user interfaces (VUIs) significantly more “human-like.” Unlike traditional voice assistants that often struggle with background noise or rigid commands, Kardome’s technology focuses on enabling machines to understand context, intent, and speaker location in messy, real-world acoustic environments.

Unlike standard ASR engines that process speech as isolated text, Cognition AI integrates a layer of “Contextual Awareness.” It correlates linguistic data with spatial information and speaker identity (Who is speaking? From where?). This allows the system to support complex, natural language queries and handle implicit commands that standard keyword-spotting systems miss.

Cognition AI utilizes advanced Directed Speech Detection algorithms. By analyzing the speaker’s orientation and acoustic patterns relative to the device, the system distinguishes between commands intended for the interface and background conversation (cross-talk). This significantly reduces accidental triggers (FAR) and improves the overall reliability of the Voice UI.

Yes. The VoiceID module enables biometric speaker recognition and verification. This allows OEMs to deliver personalized user experiences (e.g., loading specific driver profiles or restricting access to certain functions) by identifying pre-enrolled users with high accuracy, even in challenging acoustic environments.

Yes. The solution includes InferLM, a proprietary, lightweight SLM optimized for on-device deployment. This enables intuitive intent inference and natural language interaction without the latency or privacy risks associated with cloud-based Generative AI models.

Cognition AI is architected for On-Device processing. This ensures minimal-latency response times and guarantees data sovereignty, as sensitive biometric data and voice recordings are processed locally. This architecture aids manufacturers in meeting strict privacy regulations (GDPR, CCPA) without relying on external cloud connectivity.
